New Broom In New Zealand League

Insiders say that the new broom that is sweeping through New Zealand League is designed to end Australia’s dominance on the game but the smart money is on the Aussies staying well clear of the Kiwis for many years to come.

The recent appointments of Barry McAlister and Gary Freeman have been touted as part of a new Aussie style of approach to the game from the sheep farmers but only an idiot would suggest that the Kiwis have any hope of applying the Aussie ‘win at all costs’ approach to their sport.

While Freeman says that he supports the new ‘The End Justifies The Means’ approach that has seen Australians dominate in every sport imaginable it is hard to think the Kiwis have any chance at emulating this.

The thought of Kiwis bowling underarm to win a match may seem far fetched but sources say that winning is now everything to the Kiwis and they will lower themselves to any level to win.

‘They’ll never do it’ says veteran sports watcher Oswald P Wrong of South Chumbawana ‘Look at them when Australia One snapped in half in San Diego, instead of carrying on and winning the race like we Aussies would have done they stopped and saved the lives of the opposition. What a bunch of losers’

‘The Kiwis will always take second place to us in that regard’ he continued.

Kiwis sources reveal that they will struggle to place as much importance on winning as the Aussies citing the fact that after 6 years the Warriors still have loyal fans ‘but we have to start somewhere. It’s one thing to win the Australian Golf Open, the Melbourne Cup, The Caulfield Cup, The Cox Plate twice in a row and to clean up in the Harness racing like we are but until we are the flyfishing champions of the World it’s all pretty worthless’ it was revealed.

Australian sports sources where not impressed with the latest heroics from the Kiwis. ‘They haven’t got a show of getting down to our level’ said a recently convicted drug cheat.
